Our stressful experiences from the past are directly responsible for weight gain, and are also preventing us from losing it. It is a stress response! (this is why it would take a trauma therapist like me to solve the mystery once and for all!) 

The cause is to be found in our own unconscious mind. The real problem is the way we store our memories and our emotional responses to those memories. What makes this seem so challenging is the fact that mostly we are no longer ‘consciously’ aware of those memories. They are no longer in our conscious mind. They can be found only in our unconscious mind. The memories that we have forgotten, or the ones we ‘thought’ we dealt with are the real culprits. 

The same part of the mind that stores our memories, also has full control of our physical bodies. It ‘reacts’ to our emotions. It is those emotional ‘re-actions’ that are the triggers that cause us to gain weight. They are also responsible for preventing us from losing weight. 

The fantastic news is this: When you understand the role your mind takes in making you gain weight, you can use it to make you lose weight… a lot of weight. Easily. Quickly. You won’t even need to lose the weight! The part of your mind that made you fat will do it for you. It can and will make you skinny… fast! Not only will you lose a lot of weight quickly, but your skin will shrink back to fit your body… with absolutely no exercise!
